After accepting these notices, you will then be asked to verify the drivers that are in your household by matching their first names to their year of birth. Once successfully accomplished, the “Instafill” feature of our website will automatically fill in the application with driver and vehicle information. Some of this information will be masked from your view, but enough will be visible for you to verify the data as well as add, change or delete the “Instafill” data. Comprehensive: Its physical coverage to your vehicle, paid out as Actual Cash Value at time of loss minus deductible. In the Sate of Florida it provides free windshield as long as client chooses this coverage. This coverage protects against the perils of: Windshield breakage, theft vandalism, burglary, weather damage, fire and flood, etc. 

Collision: Physical coverage for your own vehicle involved in a collision. (Paid out as Actual Cash Value of vehicle at time of loss minus deductible; ACV – DED = paid out amount at time of claim) 

Property Damage (PD): Liability to pay damage caused to others’ property for which you can be held liable. This pays but not limited to: The damage to other vehicles, fences, light poles, houses, etc. 

Bodily Injury (BI): Liability protection for you; covers you for bodily injury you can be held liable for in case of an at fault accident. This coverage protects for medical payments to others, protects you if you are sued for bodily injury you caused to others. 

Medical Payments (MP): Medical Payments to you for medical bills incurred in an auto accident no matter who is at fault. This coverage is optional; it may cover the 20% co-pay from your PIP protection.  

Personal Injury Protection (PIP): This is coverage for you, any authorized driver and your family members if coverage selected. It pays medical expenses relating to an accident whether or not you are at fault. PIP in the state of Florida is mandatory. It is also called “No-Fault” insurance, since no matter who is at fault it will pay up to the first $10,000.00. The insurance company pays 80% and you pay 20%. Med-Pay can replace the insured’s 20% co-pay in PIP. PIP covers medical bills, loss of wages, or disability caused in an auto accident up to the listed limit.  

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists Coverage (UMC Liability): Pays for medical payments, loss of wages, and disability to you and/or your passengers in vehicle when involved in a not at fault accident. This coverage pays when the at fault party is Uninsured or Underinsured. This coverage pays last after PIP, Med Pay and BI coverages are exhausted. UMC coverage is offered in two ways: Stacked and Unstacked.

1. Stacked: Can be chosen when a person has more than one vehicle, it offers more protection without having to increase the limits. It takes coverage from the other vehicle(s) and adds the coverage to the involved vehicle. (ex: 3 cars stacked coverage without accident = 100/300 ; coverage = in accident 300/900 ) This coverage cost is higher.
2. Unstacked: The most commonly chosen coverage, it provides the UMC coverage per vehicle individually. This coverage does not share the coverage from other vehicles on the policy. (ex: 3 cars covered at 100/300 in accident the coverage is 100/300)
   

Towing and Labor (T&L): This pays for the reimbursement of up to the policy limits per disablement. This pays for the towing of your vehicle to the nearest garage or repairs. This coverage also pays for the reimbursement of a locksmith service, etc.

What Are the Steps to Take When You’re in an Auto Accident?

1. Unless you’re in a life threatening situation, remain at the scene.
2. Contact emergency assistance via 911; ask a passing motorist to call if you cannot.
3. Gather the following information:
• Location of accident, date and time.
• Year, make, model and license number of other vehicle(s) if applicable.
• Name, address, phone number, and insurance information of other drivers, as well as name address and phone number of any witnesses.
4. It is recommended that you do not sign any written statements or discuss the accident with anyone at the scene except the police officer.  You should contact your auto insurance company as soon as reasonably possible to report the claim.

Unless otherwise adjusted by endorsement, physical damage coverage (comprehensive and collision) for your vehicle is based upon your vehicles actual cash value at the time of the loss.  This value does not include any customization done to your car after it leaves the factory.  In order to account for your customization expenses you need to have those endorsed to your policy at the time you buy the policy, or added to your policy at the time the customization is added.

Insurable customizations would include paint jobs, ground effects, wheel rims and audio equipment. You will most likely be required to provide your insurance company photos and receipts in order to add the customization endorsement at the proper amount.

Finally, vehicle alterations are not considered customizations and may make your vehicle uninsurable either just for physical damage to the vehicle itself, or completely uninsurable for even liability insurance.  Any alterations that change the engineered physical dynamics of your vehicle would be considered an alteration.  Examples would include jacking up your vehicle, and or changing out your engine with one that was not engineered for your vehicle.  We recommend you discuss any alterations with your agent, preferably before you do them, to see if they would make your vehicle uninsurable in any way.
